SOME RECENT TESTIMONIALS:
Paul has been helping me in getting the desired band score in IELTS. It has been a great experience for me. He is not only helping me academically, but he really motivates me to be patient and consistent throughout my learning process.
IELTS is a very structured exam; small mistakes really pulls a person back from getting the desired score. It is necessary to understand what is required rather than what we know. Paul is helping me to understand those requirements and also to pinpoint all the small mistakes, which remain unnoticed by the exam takers.

I live in Germany where an IELTS tutor, who is also a native speaker, is not easy to find. I was very fortunate in finding Paul on the universitytutor.com website. I didn't experience any difficulty with the online tutoring he provided from Australia where the local time is 9 and a half hours ahead of local time here. Paul recognised my weak points in writing from each of the exercises I submitted by email, and gave very precise suggestions about what I had to do to improve this skill. Also, I've got more confident in speaking by doing many mock speaking tests with Paul via Skype. His feedback and comments have been critical to me as I strive to achieve my required band scores. I would like to thank Paul profoundly for his help.

"As my IELTS tutor, Paul gave me a lot of advice on how to improve my general English and IELTS skills. When practising speaking, we would talk about current international news in every lesson and Paul would pick up my grammar and vocabulary mistakes, and recommend better ways to interpret questions asked. He conducted practice questions for Task 1, 2 and 3 of the IELTS Speaking test.
With writing, Paul knows each type of question in the IELTS Writing test very well. He taught me how to improve my 150 word Task 1 Reports [Graphs. tables and diagrams] and showed me a good structures to use for 250 word argument and discussion essays in Task 2.
My confidence when speaking and writing in English improved significantly after receiving Paul's help"

I used to write as a Chinese who just directly translated Chinese into English. However, Paul taught me that it is important to have a good introduction, body paragraph topic sentences, and a good conclusion. It is important to think logically when writing IELTS essays. When I present my point of view, I have to justify it with reasons and these reasons have to be connected. The structure of the argument style he showed me is really useful, as it is very clear and easy for the reader [IELTS examiner] to understand the main idea of the whole essay.

I am feeling short of words to express my gratitude to Paul for helping me with IELTS writing. I finally got the score of 7.0 I required with his guidance. The techniques he taught me to manage time to perform both tasks, and also how to understand the question, it helped me to improve from 6.5 to 7.
I would like to thank him once again, and I would recommend him to all those students who are struggling with IELTS.

Paul has a comprehensive understanding about IELTS. He is an Australian and a native English speaker, he catches writing which doesn't make sense to native speakers. I would never knew these as an international student whose English is a second language. I truly believe that my English has been improved more in comparison to before I've met Paul. Additionally, he has a sense of humour so you will never be bored during tuition.

HobbiesI have enjoyed travelling throughout the world over many years and still plan to do more. Travelling is both liberating and a reminder about the things I still do not know!
When not travelling, I am a keen follower of current affairs, the performing arts, walking in, and enjoying the Australian countryside. I must admit to enjoying good food and wine.
