Private tutor in Adelaide, Australia

Education

I am an honours year medical student in between fifth and sixth year at the University of Adelaide. I achieved an IB diploma of 43/45 - ATAR of 99.75, willing to teach IB HL biology or chemistry, SL language and literature, mathematics at a primary school/middle school level, and medicine, including current medical students and young aspiring doctors.

Experience

In terms of tutoring experience, I have been a medical school and college tutor to first year medical students, which has involved tutoring small groups, lecturing and helping to integrate students into University life, and have tutored primary school children in the sciences. I have lead the choir at the medical school, which also involved teaching students music, leading them and conducting the group at the fundraiser concert. I am comfortable having an enthusiastic, firm but kind approach to teaching since I have taught students both years younger and years older than me. During high school, I was part of the national biology olympiad training camp, achieved NCEA scholarship chemistry and biology and the $45,000 University of Otago scholarship for academic excellence. Finally, I really enjoy teaching - this is one of my passions! The satisfaction of seeing my students growing and doing well is often greater than when I myself achieve my academic goals. I would prefer to tutor in the city (e.g. AHMS, main University campus, or city library), but this is negotiable.

Hobbies

I have a passion for the performing arts - I have been heavily involved in violin, flute, piano, singing and drama. I believe in living a balanced lifestyle and am willing to broach difficult topics if it means helping other people with their academics and their goals. Moving to boarding school and eventually overseas for medical school, my experiences performing, and my wide range of other extracurricular activities have given me a myriad of life experiences that will make me a better and more relatable tutor.
