I am currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in education at Adelaide University.
Experience
I teach children between the ages of five and eleven currently but am studying towards being a high school teacher. I have completed many practicum placements in a primary school setting and absolutely loved working with the students there. I currently tutor elementary and middle school students in English, reading, and writing. I also tutor high school students in reading and writing as well as psychology and music. Working with students individually makes the learning process more personal and can make students who are struggling feel more comfortable asking questions. It allows me to focus instruction on the exact topics they find most challenging and can increase their engagement with the curriculum. We are also able to go at an instructional pace that is comfortable for the student. With increased engagement and reduced frustration, many students find they are able to learn previously challenging material more readily.
