Erin R.
Private tutor in Adelaide, Australia
Education
I attended the University of Adelaide to earn my Bachelor of Arts with an English major and History minor.
Experience
As I am continuing my studies with postgraduate work, I see tutoring not only as a way to support myself financially but also as an opportunity to complement my own studies. By teaching others and seeking to install good study habits in them, my skills as both a teacher and a student will improve. I genuinely care that the students I work with succeeding in their chosen areas of study. Throughout my degree, I undertook courses in a wide range of subjects, which has given me a broad and solid general knowledge base and a strong ability for self-directed learning. If there is a topic that is not already a strong point for me, I have the research skills to gain an understanding in any area. I believe that the most important lesson a tutor can pass onto a student is to equip them with the skills for self-directed learning. It is one thing to teach somebody about a given topic, it is another to teach somebody the learning skills that they can use for the rest of their life.

Hobbies
My hobbies are many and varied. I am interested in the arts generally, including literature, film, television and music. I follow lots of sport, such as AFL, basketball, cricket and tennis. I keep fit by cycling (which I also use to get from A to B) and running. In my younger years I played bass and guitar, although I have become incredibly rusty through a lack of practice over the last ten or so years.
