Education
I finished my Bachelor degree in English Teaching as a Second Language in 2005. In 2006, I was awarded a FLTA Fulbright Scholarship (Foreign Language Teaching Assistant) to teach Spanish at St. Augustine's University in Raleigh, NC,USA. I'm currently studying a Masters Degree in Education Leadership and Management at Flinders University.
Experience
I have been tutoring students for more than 16 years. In my classes I try to teach students how to structure sentences in order to communicate in a foreign language. I consider that it is significantly important to know the basics of a language in order to be able to produce sentences. Besides that, my focus is on how the language works, therefore, I consider that bringing authentic materials to the class could help increasing students' awareness of the language in real context. Videos, newspapers articles, songs, movies, series, soap operas, radio podcasts; are just some of the resources I use during a class. I'm always thinking about new teaching techniques for my students, how to motivate them to continue learning besides the class.
